Dr. Ricardo Colberg  is a native of San Juan, PR and is beginning his first year on the University of West Alabama Sports Medicine Staff.  As an undergraduate, he attended the University of Pennsylvania, graduated from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, where he held the position of Academic Chief Resident during the academic year 2011-2012.  He  is currently training as a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellow at the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) in Birmingham under the leadership of  Dr. Jose Ortega.  In addition to his professional pursuits, Dr. Colberg enjoys playing tennis, doing research in musculoskeletal injuries, and spending time with his wife and son.
