Two graduate assistant athletic trainer positions for August 2008

POSITION: Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer, two positions.
 
EFFECTIVE DATE: August 1, 2008.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
      A.  Essential:
  1. Certification by National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification, candidates not yet certified but eligible may be considered.

  2. Bachelor's Degree.  Preferred in Athletic Training, Health, Physical Education, and/or  or related area.

  3. Ability to work effectively with the administration, faculty, staff, and students within the university.

      B. Desirable:
  1. One year experience post certification.

  2. Athletic training experience in football, basketball, and baseball in the college and/or high school setting.

FUNCTIONS:
  1. Assist the Athletic Training Staff in providing supervision of athletic training services to the varsity athletic program including football, baseball, men’s & women’s basketball, women’s softball & volleyball, men’s & women’s cross country, and rodeo.

  2. Assist with the CAATE accredited Athletic Training Education Program as a teaching assistant in providing clinical instruction and supervision to student athletic trainers in laboratories and practicums.

BENEFITS:
  1. Nine-month stipend, out of state tuition waiver.

  2. Some course textbooks are provided for graduate course work.

  3. Professional development funding for housing, transportation, and registration to the NATA, SEATA, and Alabama Athletic Trainers' Association annual meetings and potentially other educational meetings.
