Brandon
Seifert, M.D. is an Orthopaedic Surgery Sports
Medicine Fellow at the American Sports Medicine
Institute (ASMI) in Birmingham, AL. He is
beginning his first year on the University of
West Alabama Sports Medicine Staff and is also
serving as a team physician for Calera High
School and Birmingham Barons.
Dr. Seifert grew up in Ravenna, Nebraska and
attended Grand Island Northwest High School.
After high school he transitioned on to
Concordia University in Seward, NE where he
received a double major in Biology and
Chemistry. While at Concordia University he
competed in Cross Country and Track and earned
multiple All American honors and won a National
Championship in the indoor mile for the
Bulldogs. He then attended the University of
Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha, NE.
After graduating from medical school in 2006, he
began his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at
the University of Texas Health Science Center in
San Antonio, Texas, where he was able to work
with the sports medicine staffs for the San
Antonio Spurs, San Antonio Rampage, San Antonio
Missions Baseball team, and multiple San Antonio
Universities and High Schools. He completed his
residency in 2011 and then moved to Birmingham
to begin his Orthopaedic Sports Medicine
fellowship under Dr. Andrews, Dr. Cain, Dr.
Dugas, Dr. Emblom, and Dr. Ray. Dr. Seifert is
a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic
Surgeons and American College of Sports
Medicine.
Dr. Seifert is an avid sports fan and in his
spare time enjoys spending time with his spouse
Vanessa, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes,
aviation, cycling, golf, hunting, and running.
