 Michael Shields is beginning his first year at the University of West Alabama as
a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer. Michael is pursuing a Master of Arts in
Teaching, Physical Education. He began his Athletic Training career at Georgia
Southern University, a CAATE accredited athletic training education program and
graduated in May 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training and Exercise
Science. While at Georgia Southern University Michael primarily worked with
Softball, Men’s Soccer, Statesboro High School, Volleyball, and Football.
Michael is a native Mississippian, loves all sports and the outdoors. He is
adjusting well to the small town of Livingston and loves it.
