The NATA Foundation has released a new issue of its ongoing educational series, Building Blocks for Clinical Practice. The latest piece, Chest Percussion and Auscultations, provides tips for examination and assessment of respiratory issues.   This 8th edition is a three-page flyer with step by step details and proper techniques for performing chest percussion and auscultations. Information on interpretation is also provided.  We hope this program will help athletic trainers build a stronger foundation of clinical practice and will be a valuable tool for athletic trainers working as clinicians and educators as well as students growing in our profession. Feel free to print out these documents or forward the link to parents, athletes, coaches or anyone else who might benefit from the information. We welcome feedback from the membership on this program.

The NATA Foundation would like to thank Sue Guyer, DPE, ATC, LAT, for her many hours of work developing and executing this educational program. We would also like to congratulate Joe Lueken, MS, ATC, LAT, who is now in charge of the program.

Help Make the 2013 Silent Auction Our Best Yet

    ^

We are currently seeking items for the 2013 Silent Auction in Las Vegas and hope to have a variety of different options available for bidding. That’s where you come in!

Just because you don’t have David Beckham on speed dial doesn’t mean you can’t make a difference!  Do you make craft beer in your spare time?  Why not donate a six pack of your special brew?  Have textbooks that you don’t use in your classrooms?  They typically sell really well.  Paintings, photographs, gift cards, skiing packages, vacation rentals, “Dinner with an NATA Hall of Famer” and/or, of course, collegiate or professional gear/autographs/memorabilia…we’ll take it all!  To commit an item to the auction, please contact Rachael Oats at rachaelo@nata.org.
