NATA Foundation Accepting Nominations for
Research Awards

Research Award Criteria & Nomination Information

The NATA Research & Education Foundation is committed to encouraging research among athletic trainers who can contribute to the athletic training knowledge base. A strategy for achieving this goal is to provide formal recognition for outstanding athletic training researchers. To that end, the NATA Foundation has established an awards program to acknowledge and reward those individuals whose work helps fulfill that goal.

Nominations are being accepted until October 7th for the
Medal for Distinguished Athletic Training Research, the New Investigator Award and the Doctoral Dissertation Award for deserving researchers among the NATA membership.

To nominate an individual for a 2014 Research Award, simply submit his/her name, e-mail, mailing address and phone number to Patsy Brown (
patsyb@nata.org or 972.532.8847) Upon receipt of the nomination, NATA Foundation staff will send the candidate an award application, along with a request for a CV and three letters of recommendation outlining the candidate’s scholarly contributions.

NATA Foundation “Triple D” Challenge

^

The NATA Foundation is pleased to introduce the Double your District Donors challenge for 2013.  The “Triple D” Challenge encourages NATA members to donate to the NATA Foundation in an effort to double the number of donors we had in 2012.  The work of the NATA Foundation has aided every athletic trainer in our profession, in every type of work setting.  Please do your part so we can continue to help advance the profession of athletic training through education and research.  No amount of donation is too small.  Every dollar counts.

    Shoe Box Society

The Shoe Box Society for Planned Giving is designed to honor those who utilize estate planning to support the mission of the NATA Foundation.  These commitments hearken back to the visionaries who founded NATA in Kansas City in 1950.  Those pioneers undoubtedly knew their efforts would benefit all who would follow them in the profession much more than themselves.  Please consider becoming a member of the shoe Box Society.

The 2014 Athletic Training Student Challenge is set to begin on October 1st. The 2014 Athletic Training Student Challenge offers your club a unique opportunity to support the NATA Foundation by raising money to help our organization meet its goals. Last year’s efforts raised more than $12,500 for the NATA Foundation’s annual fund and endowment program. We’re hoping that, with your help, the 2014 will be even bigger and better!

As an ATSC participant, your donation can be made to the 2014 Annual Fund, to help the NATA Foundation with important initiatives like the research and scholarship programs. Or your school can elect to designate its donation to go directly to one of our NATA Foundation research or scholarship endowments that hasn’t yet been fully funded.
