goals

this
program
are
to
provide
an
opportunity
for
students
of

training

the
NATA
Foundation
and
to
raise
money
for
research
in
athletic
training.

for all
research
grant
applications.
This
includes
grants
submitted
to the
student
grants
(masters
and
doctoral),
general
grants,
and
outcomes
grants
research
programs.
The
Research
Committee
is
currently
completing
the
electronic
submission
instruction
manual,
which
should
be
posted
on the
REF
website
within
the next
4-6
weeks.
The
electronic
submission
process
will be
in
effect
for all
grants
submitted
for
review
in
Spring
2009.

Neuromuscular Inhibition of the Dynamic Ankle Stabilizers in Patients with Functional Ankle Instability (FAI) |

PRACTICAL
SIGNIFICANCE
Peroneal
muscle
inhibition
is
present
in
patients
suffering
from
functional
ankle
instability,
but this
weakness
is not
related
to
dynamic
ankle
instability.
Additionally,
interventions
aimed at
minimizing
muscle
inhibition
may not
assist
in
protecting
the
ankle
from
further
episodes
of
instability.
