Golf Classic
at
Gateway National Golf Links
8:30 AM Tee Time
Tuesday, June 17, 2008Grab your clubs and play a round for the Foundation at the fabulous Gateway National Golf Links. Golfers of all skill levels are welcome. Your registration includes: round trip shuttle between St. Louis and the golf course, your choice of playing partners; goodie bag; 18 holes of golf with cart; putting and driving ranges, delicious all-you-can-eat buffet lunch at the course; foursome photos; hole contests; team and individual prizes; and one raffle ticket. The 19th Hole Party will be held at the clubhouse immediately following completion of golf, and will feature tournament awards and raffles. Everyone has a chance to win! Come and join the fun!

7:00 AM Start TimeJoin us for a terrific 5K Fun Run/1M Walk benefiting the NATA Research & Education Foundation. The 2008 event will be held in beautiful Forest Park near downtown St. Louis. After the race, enjoy a breakfast snack, music, and the awards ceremony. Recognition will be given in the following categories: Overall Male and Overall Female, Male-under 30, Female - under 30, Male - 30 to 49, Female - 30 to 49, Male - 50 and above, Female - 50 and above. Your registration includes: round trip shuttle between downtown St. Louis and Forest Park; a Fun Run/Walk T-shirt; goodie bag; refreshments along the way; awards ceremony and a breakfast snack afterwards. Foundation
New
Investigator
Award
established
to
recognize

researcher

lecturer
at the
AOSSM
Annual
Meeting
in 2009

ACSM
Annual
Meeting

Meeting
in 2009.

For the
third
consecutive
year,
the
Boston
University
Society
of
Athletic
Training
Students
won the
BŪ / SHŪ
Challenge.
For the
2007-2008
contest
they
raised
$3,079.75.
Student
Athletic
Training
groups
from 23
different
colleges
and
universities
participated
to raise
a grand
total of
$11,500.
The
Boston
University
group
will be
recognized
for
their
leadership
during
the
William
E.
Newell
Athletic
Training
Student
Awards
Luncheon
on
Wednesday,
June 18
in St.
Louis at
the NATA
Annual
Meeting.

Fellows
Program
to
recognize
professional
achievement
in

education,
combined

allowed
to use
the
prestigious
designation
of “FNATA.”

PRACTICAL
SIGNIFICANCE
During
single-leg
forward
jump-stops,
the
tibialis
anterior
muscle
may not
be a
primary
determinant
for
rearfoot
eversion
and knee
internal
rotation,
and
eventual
increased
anterior
cruciate
ligament
(ACL)
strain.
Alternative
biomechanical
adaptations
may
partially
explain
the
higher
ACL
injury
rates
that
have
been
shown to
accompany
individuals
who tend
to
pronate
excessively.

issue of
clinical
outcomes
research

training.
The
National
Athletic
Trainers’
Association,
Inc. has

$1,000,000
to fund
this
initiative
for 3
years
beginning
in
2007.
