Glenohumeral movements in the Sagittal Plane of Motion

Flexion is accomplished by concentric contraction of the anterior Deltoid & the clavicular head of the Pectoralis major. Extension is accomplished by concentric contraction of the sternal head of Pectoralis major, Latissimus dorsi & Teres major.

Glenohumeral movements in the Frontal Plane of Motion

Abduction is accomplished by concentric contraction of the Deltoid, Supraspinatus & the clavicular head of the Pectoralis major. Adduction is accomplished by concentric contraction of the sternal head of Pectoralis major, Latissimus dorsi & Teres major.

Glenohumeral movements in the Horizontal Plane of Motion

External Rotation is accomplished by concentric contraction of the Infraspinatus & Teres major. Internal Rotation is accomplished by concentric contraction of the Pectoralis major, Latissimus dorsi & Teres major & Coracobrachalis.

Glenohumeral movements in the Horizontal Plane of Motion

Horizontal Abduction is accomplished by concentric contraction of the Infraspinatus, Teres major, posterior Deltoid, & middle Deltoid. Horizontal Adduction is accomplished by concentric contraction of the Pectoralis major, Coracobrachialis, anterior Deltoid.
