Amy Menzies is beginning her fourth year as an Athletic Trainer/Instructor at the University of West Alabama.  This year, she will be primarily providing healthcare services to the football team and Men’s/Women’s golf team.  For the previous three years, she has worked solely with the Men’s and Women’s soccer teams as well as the Men’s/Women’s golf team.  In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Amy teaches multiple courses within the physical education and athletic training program.  Furthermore, she has served on numerous UWA professional committees, is the faculty advisor for the Iota Tau Alpha Honor Society, and is actively involved with providing healthcare services to the surrounding community.

Amy began her athletic training career at The University of Toledo, a CAATE Accredited Athletic Training Program.  Amy graduated in May of 2008 receiving her B.S. in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training.  While at Toledo, she spent time with the university's football, tennis, and softball teams, serving at the high school level as well as in a physical therapy clinic.  In 2009, Amy accepted a Graduate Assistant position at Texas State University in San Marcos to pursue a M.S. in Athletic Training.  While attending Texas State, Amy worked at Texas Lutheran University providing healthcare services to the Women’s Volleyball team and Men’s/Women’s Basketball teams.  She received her M.S. in Athletic Training in August 2011.

Amy is a native of Willoughby, Ohio but fell in love with the south after moving to Texas.  She is excited to stay in the south and is eager to continue to grow and advance her athletic training career at UWA.
