Hudson
is beginning his fourth year as head
athletic trainer and assistant professor at the University of West Alabama.
This is his sixth year at the University. He is responsible for overseeing
the athletic training services for all UWA varsity sports and provides
athletic training services to the UWA Football Team. Hudson also teaches
upper level undergraduate and masters athletic training courses.
Hudson received his Bachelor of Science in
Athletic Training from Delta State University in May of 2014. After
graduating from DSU, he went on to complete his Master of Science in
Athletic Administration with an intercollegiate emphasis from Mississippi
College in May of 2016. While completing his M.S at MC, Hudson served as a
graduate assistant on the athletic training staff, providing athletic
training services to the MC Men’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, and
Baseball teams. After completing his graduate assistantship, Hudson took
over the athletic training services for the MC Football team from 2016-2018.
Prior to joining the staff at UWA, Hudson was a clinical athletic trainer in
a primary care sports medicine clinic at the Andrews Institute for
Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Pensacola, FL.
In April of 2024, Hudson completed his Doctor of
Education from the University of St. Augustine for the Health Sciences.
Hudson’s research interest centers around concussion rehab and Return to
Learn as part of concussion management. He holds a Vestibular Rehabilitation
and Concussion certification from the American Institute of Balance in July
of 2023. He is also completed a certification in dry needling through
Structure and Function in December of 2023.
Hudson currently lives in Coatopa, AL, with his
wife, Krista, their son, Bailey, and dog, Patch.
