Michael Staley,
MS, ATC
Assistant Athletic Trainer/Instructor |
Michael Staley is starting his first year as an Assistant Athletic
Trainer/Instructor at the University of West Alabama. He will start his
career by providing health care services for the Men’s and Women’s Basketball
Teams as well as instructing various courses in the UWA athletic training
program.
Michael started his athletic training career at Olivet Nazarene University in
ONU’s CAATE Accredited Athletic Training Education Program. Michael
graduated in May 2011 receiving his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training.
While at Olivet he had the privilege of working with the university’s varsity
sports Men’s Soccer, Football, Track, Tennis, and Men’s Basketball, serving also
at a high school as well as the local community college. In pursuing his
undergraduate degree Michael also had opportunities to gain additional
experience working with Biomax Rehabilitation as well as the Illinois State
Rodeo Finals. After his completion of his undergraduate degree Michael had
the honor of accepting a Graduate Assistantship at Depauw University while
pursuing his Masters of Science in Exercise Science at Indiana State University.
During his position at Depauw University Michael had the opportunity to work
with a wide variety of sports including Volleyball, Men’s/Women’s Tennis,
Baseball, and Men’s/Women’s Golf as well as assisting with Football, and
Men’s/Women’s Basketball. He was also given the privilege to be the Head
Athletic Trainer with an Athlete in Action baseball team in the Dominican
Republic. Michael finished his Masters of Science in May 2013.
